Welcome back to California Sucks - a series of posts where I extol the virtues suck that is the 3rd world country of California. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , this time it’s protesters.

You may know the Black Lives Matter folks - like many other movements, they found an easily activated group of potential terrorists in California. Those people, the sons and daughters of drug addled flower children, aren’t playing with all their marbles.

Well today was like any other California - full of traffic. Except it’s a holiday so the Bay Bridge should have been clear. Except that a bunch of overweight nincompoops decided to don their own flavor of BDSM and chain themselves to the bridge and their Rav4L.

But this isn’t the first time. In fact, jumping into traffic is now a favorite pastime among the bay area brainless. It’s not even limited to Berkeley these days. It’s spilled into southern California and the brain-sucking disease occasionally crops up in other parts of the country.

But don’t worry, no judge in California ever convicts people who do this - despite breaking the law. That would ruin all the fun.

(I know, they aren’t all bad. But there’s plenty of ones I wouldn’t want to live next to).

While I agree with the BLM movement in theory (i.e. the message that says that black lives matter just as much as “white lives”), I disagree with tactics such as the ones illustrated above. If I was stuck in traffic by these protesters, I wouldn’t be more sympathetic to their cause than I already am.

They aren't winning over the public with these stunts.

The sad part is that the only thing these asshats are doing is sabotaging their own movement by pissing off the average person.

Personally, I support the cause but stopping traffic sometimes isn’t the best tactic. It doesn’t bring any more to the cause in this case.

and there are a lot worse things in the Bay Area, like the fluctuating toll prices, the fluctuating parking fees in SF, the ludicrous hours parking fees are in place (10-8), the lack of inspections that results in cars that are completely not fit to drive on a road (I’ve seen a lexus with the hood slammed to the windshield), the scary drivers, again the stupidly high gas prices, and the fuckbois who have the GTRs and Ferraris.

The thing is that native Californians are not bad at all. We’re generic westerners. We were invaded from the East by hordes of fools that ruined the northeast before moving on to ravage the West. They’re like human locusts and they’re why CA has a bad name where I live (people are shocked to find out that I wasn’t born here!). They moved to SF really early - it hasn’t been a western place for well over a century. They started invading SoCal around the time the movie industry started there and flooded in afterward.

I was among the 6th generation of my family to be born in the Los Angeles basin, though by my generation they had moved out of the city itself. There’s even a street named after my family in East LA...

The thing is that I can’t even deal with most of the metro area anymore. I moved out of the state and city because it’s unbearable between traffic, taxes, and politics...

I’m with you on the whole.... ‘If you fucking hate it and have to tell the world you hate it then just fucking leave already’ mentality, but the San Francisco area is actually really cool! I love going up there. I mean seriously, though, people leave CA because they can’t afford to live the life they want here, not because LA is shit, or the people suck. If you can afford to live here, you can afford to leave. All the people commenting “oh yeah, I hate LA too”, that’s okay. I hate Florida (except for Cape Canveral and Panama City Beach) I dislike Texas (except for Austin and the strip of land in Houston that JSC sits on). I don’t like Oklahoma. And you know what, I’d never live in those places! I also would never make a post about how horrible they are. I’d just complain about it in someone’s comment section. I’ve never been to San Francisco, but imagine I’d go fucking nuts by all the hipsters, hippies, and general idiots that can’t drive. But I still want to go for sure.

But yeah, the biggest complaint people have here is they can’t afford it, but instead of saying that, they find other reasons to bitch, like the traffic, or the gas prices, or the abundance of idiots. I hate, HATE Camarillo, but I'm not making a post about it, even though I could write a book about how much it sucks...
